Job Description

Xilinx has an opening for Functional Safety IC Design Engineer in the Functional Safety team. This team is responsible for defining, developing and deploying FuSa methodologies across safety-related projects.

The candidate will work with design, verification and SW teams, among others, to enable key safety features in the next generation of Xilinx‘s SoCs.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to the internal development/improvement of FuSa methodologies and processes in compliance with (but not limited to) ISO 26262, IEC 61508 and ISO 13849 safety standards
  • Perform safety analyses (DFMEA, FMEDA, DFA, Isolation analysis, etc.) and verification activities
  • Develop safety solutions at the HW level to meet stringent ASIL/SIL/PL targets
  • Review architecture documents and provide feedback to architects to meet safety targets set by the project requirements
  • Train and guide design and verification engineers on safety analyses and perform technical reviews of the work products delivered by them
  • Coordinate HW and SW teams to harmonize system-level safety solutions requiring tight interaction between HW, tools, SSW and STL
  • Support FuSa assessment and certification activities with third party assessors

Job Qualifications

  • BS with 5+ years of exp MS with 3+ years of exp or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or related equivalent
  • Experience in safety-related IP or SoC analysis or development
  • Ability to work across multiple disciplines involving aspects of HW architecture/design, design verification and embedded SW
  • Background in silicon design/verification and experience with industry-standard EDA tools for FPGA or ASIC design/verification is desired
  • Excellent understanding of safety standards (ISO 26262, IEC 61508 and ISO 13849) guidelines and requirements and their application to silicon development processes for complex and heterogeneous SoCs
  • Proficiency in automation and data analysis using scripting languages like TCL, Pearl or Python
  • Excellent analytical skills

 

Plus:

  • Experience in semiconductor design integrating embedded diagnostics and safety mechanisms
  • Experience with silicon fault simulation environments from main EDA vendors
  • Proven record of participation to FuSa assessments
