This is a Technical Marketing role in Xilinx's Pro AV / Broadcast / Consumer vertical market team requiring you to work very closely with the sales teams of Xilinx and our distributors to understand the customer's requirements, and to architect solutions that meet their technical and commercial requirements.
The role requires a solid understanding of Xilinx's FPGA and SoC product families, hands-on experience with Xilinx's development tools & flows, audio and video standards, embedded software (Linux), and to be able to deal with competitive threats. The systems architect is also expected to be a vocal internal influencer driving roadmaps for our video connectivity IP, video codec embedded software and FPGA/SoC chips for our markets.
The ideal candidate should possess a solid understanding of the different audio and video standards and trends as it pertains to Broadcast, Pro AV and Consumer. He/she must have demonstrable experience with key customers in this market space.
Solid internal and external communication is vital and critical in this role. The architect must be willing to accept critical feedback from within Xilinx, from sales and from customers, and must have demonstrated skills to convert / translate feedback into actions that result in dramatic improvements to Xilinx's portfolio offerings. Technical banters are always encouraged but as long as they are constructive, handled professionally and with a view to growing revenue for the team and for Xilinx. Humility, ability to context-switch and multitask and an experience in roles measured based on revenue growth are other critical requirements in this role.
Travel is key to furthering our relationship with sales and with customers. This will include travel to support tradeshows. The candidate should be comfortable presenting papers and in any form of outbound communication that establishes Xilinx as thought leaders.
Business development is a component of this role so that he/she can drive the growth of new customers, influence customer decisions via detailed technical presentations and discussions, and to go the extra mile to secure deals.
Exposure to identifying and engaging with strategic ecosystem partners is expected (but not mandatory) so that he/she can leverage them as needed.
Presentation skills are critical and vital in this role, both written (ability to create collateral) and spoken. This person will be engaged with a broad spectrum of influencers so the ability to network with like-minded peers in the industry is an asset.
This person should have a can-do, hands-on, roll-up-the-sleeves attitude with a good mix of solid technical, business and communication skills. More importantly, we are looking for someone committed to this role and not seek a role that is a stepping stone to other roles within Xilinx.
