Senior Field Applications Engineer
Job Description: Manages new product introduction and production support engineering for a specific product or group of products after transfer from design to in-house or outsourced production. Provide pre and post-sales support, including lab debug, timing closure and analysis, RTL coding and simulation, pinout creation, power analysis, and board design feedback. Provide regular feedback to Xilinx management and factory experts on the needs of the customer base. Use specialized knowledge of all Xilinx hardware devices including the all programmable logic, processing systems and Xilinx IP (hard and soft) to drive customers' solutions. Provide deep technical support to customers in their selection and use of Xilinx development tools, silicon and IP products that ensure success. Provide technical leadership and guidance that focuses on design win strategies for all customer opportunities. Analyze customer needs, and compare and contrast Xilinx and competitive solutions in order to maximize the customer’s use of Xilinx products. Collaborate with field and factory resources to develop and deliver technical proposals to customer project managers, engineering managers, system architects and design engineers. Code and implement circuits to demonstrate efficient use of Xilinx technology and competitive advantages to secure design wins. Provide technical solution creation (e.g.: hardware, software demonstrations, example designs) and guide customers through their design process. Manage customer projects that span multiple regions/countries. Provide customer support and solve real time problems including software tool issues, RTL and simulation assistance, hardware lab debug, and embedded system bring up. Use factory supplied presentation and demonstration material to craft and deliver presentations and demonstrations on Xilinx products, tools, and methodologies that align with customers’ needs. Provide regular feedback to Xilinx management and factory experts on the needs of the customer base.
Education: Bachelor or foreign equivalent in Electrical Engineering or related field.
Experience: 5 years progressive experience as Senior Product Applications Engineer or related occupation.

Must have at least 1 year of prior work experience in the following:
1. Technical support to customer in their selection and use of development tools, silicon and
2. Technical guidance that focuses on design win strategies for customer opportunities.
3. Using RTL or HLS language for FPGA development and designs.
4. Communication product architecture and design, wired communication equipment, including network router, switch and firewall.
5. Collaborate with field and factory resources to develop and deliver technical proposals to customer project managers, engineering managers, system architects and design engineers.
6. Provide technical solution creation, hardware design, including board schematic design, PCB layout review, signal integrity test and board bring up/debug, and guide customers through their design process.
7. Provide customer support and solve real time problems including software tools issues, RTL and simulation
assistance, hardware lab debug, and embedded design bring up.
