Job Description


The ChipScope team has an exciting summer software internship opportunity for college undergraduate and graduate students. We are a collaborative team that enjoys learning from each other as we create tools that help solve our customers debug problems. Our passion is investigating interesting ACAP, SoC and FPGA in-system debug problems and collectively work with our support teams to develop one of the most widely used software debug tools for Xilinx devices.  

In this internship you will be working with senior engineers and managers to help test and investigate new usability methods of a debug open source python package called ChipScoPy. You will also work on developing training materials and troubleshoot customer-related issues as they come up. In addition to these projects, you’ll also have a chance to work with your summer intern colleagues on a fun and inspiring intern-managed group project. 

Everyday there will be a new opportunity to learn something new about advanced Xilinx products and what it takes to develop quality production open source software working alongside with a team that will help you succeed every step of the way.  

Job Requirements

  • Develop Python code and test infrastructure for the ChipScoPy Python Package 
  • Build customer training examples for using the ChipScoPy Python package  
  • Collaborate with the project team members to troubleshoot and solve software issues  
  • Document and present testing results and training modules 

Required Qualifications 

  • Currently pursuing a BS or graduate degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent from an accredited four-year college or university  
  • Proficient oral and written communication skills  
  • Fluent with Python coding and testing 
  • Experience using and contributing to GitHub repositories 
  • Experience creating detailed and organized markdown documentation (Confluence, GitHub, etc) 
  • Experience building and using Jupyter notebooks 
  • Comfortable with remote work using both Linux and Windows environments 

Desired Qualifications 

  • Familiarity with NumPy, Pandas, Matplotlib, and/or Dash 
  • Familiarity with Slack or Discord API for bot building 
  • Familiarity with Web based frontend design (React and/or Vue)
