The Senior Product Marketing Planner for Boards Products will be responsible for defining the next generation of Xilinx evaluation board products. This person must have a firm understanding of system design concepts and ability to take broad customer requirements and plan products that meet the sweet spot set of needs to enable a successful portfolio of evaluation boards.

 

Key to success is a technical mindset for understanding end customer applications and next generation silicon roadmaps that will define the boards (including physical connectivity requirements as well as soft content) required to make Xilinx and our customers successful.  This includes intaking a wide variety of customer needs and discerning the most important needs that will then be technically detailed in board product plans including Marketing Requirement Documents (MRDs) and Product Requirement Documents (PRDs).  This is important across all the end-markets Xilinx serves with focus on industrial, scientific and medical markets. 

 

Ideal for a self-starter with strong business acumen, and excellent communications skills, this position entails a significant level of influence internally with other technology and marketing groups. The position requires technical command, experience and insights to develop and nurture Xilinx products.

 

Responsibilities include managing all aspects of new product planning and supporting successful product introduction.  This additionally requires working internally with all factory stakeholders as well as externally by interfacing directly with customers. 

 

This individual possesses unwavering customer focus, critical thinking capabilities, and excellent communication skills both written and oral.  And it is of critical importance that the candidate is able to connect with customers to understand and champion the user experience.

 Sound business judgment and the ability to work as part of a high-performance team in a fast-paced environment with multiple cross-functional teams are critical for success. This position will include some travel for customer/field interaction.

  

Other Responsibilities / Needs:   

  • Strong technical acumen with an understanding of board design fundamentals that can be leveraged to detailed board and system planning specifications
  • Understand in depth the wide spectrum of customer requirements, market trends and financial objectives and synthesis them into a cohesive product plan aligned with the business strategy.
  • Possesses an understanding of embedded processing systems, operating systems, embedded system debuggers, embedded processing applications and system requirements. 
  • Knowledge of technologies common across Xilinx end markets and be versed in translating complex end system needs into requirements that will drive definition of boards.  This will include knowledge of common technologies such as PCIe, Ethernet, small form factor (SFP) interconnect technologies, external memories to name a few. 
  • Team player with excellent written and oral communication skills, customer interface skills, well organized and able to multi-task

Education Requirements

  • BS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or equivalent

Years of Experience

  • 10+ years semiconductor experience and 5+ years of marketing or engineering planning experience in the semiconductor industry

 

Ways to Stand Out:

  • Master’s degree in technical discipline or MBA is a plus, but not required
  • 3+ years of machine learning or deep learning experience
  • Familiarity with TensorFlow, Python and other learning frameworks
  • Knowledge of CPUs, GPUs, SoCs and FPGAs
  • Development experience with CPUs, GPUs or FPGA’s
