Plans, schedules and monitors the movement of materials through the supply chain network and production cycle to determine required materials purchases. Obtains materials using Engineering and Production schedules to maintain inventory at planned levels for prototype and/or production builds. Use of EOQ, MOQ, MPQ concepts), understands trade-off in cost and supply with effective negotiation skill. Ensures material standards are met and non-conformances or variances are approved and/or minimized. Gathers quotations, examines bids and makes awards in collaboration with CFT (Cross Functional Teams). Monitors product cost road (RM), drives for best negotiated prices in the cBOM and Manufacturing Value Add (MVA) cost reduction. Evaluates vendor qualifications and develops new supply sources where vendors and suppliers are no longer competitive.
Other Job Responsibilities:
Represents sourcing management on a cross-functional teams that focus on supply challenges, and to ensure internal/external customer needs are satisfied. Proven ability to nurture partnerships and excel on a cross-functional team with product management, manufacturing and process engineers as well as with legal, procurement, finance, and product support functions.
Regularly evaluate cost and performance, encourages and coordinates early components supplier involvement on highly technical and/or complex new product designs using to optimize cost, manufacturability and supply chain resiliency.
Serve as a facilitator for supplier Master Manufacturing Agreement (MSA) negotiations, renegotiations, contract addendums, NDA & MOU’s. Negotiates performance-based, preferred supplier agreements, to provide incentive for continuous supplier improvement. Advises commodity team and senior executives on strategic plans.
Monitor metrics in line with business objectives relative to supplier performance against these expectations to ensure continuous supplier improvement. Supply continuity planning and risk mitigation development with suppliers, capacity planning, cost reduction approaches and lead time reduction methodologies.
Minimum Education: BA/BS/MS degree in Business or a technical field listed herein (but not limited to) the following: Industrial and/or management Engineering, Operations Research, Manufacturing Engineering, Supply Chain Management.
Minimum Experience: Min 7+ years of experience in a Supply Chain, Operations, or production/planning environment. Preferably in Semiconductor and/or Consumer Electronics, and Electronics Manufacturing Services (EMS) industry. Exceptional interpersonal relationship skills and professional level of emotional intelligence necessary to achieve the desired objective deliverables. Proven experience of strong analytical and problem-solving skills with history of successful deployment and implementation of various cost and inventory management. Exhibit attention to detail, sense of urgency and ability to handle multiple priorities within a fast-paced environment.
Procurement, Supply Chain, Inventory Management, Engineering and/or technical certifications welcome.
Requires excellent analytical and written/oral communication skills with ability to communicate cross-functionally and with various levels of the organization.
Previous project management experience and knowledge of basic project management concepts in cost and inventory management.
