Description

As Field Applications Engineer you will be a key member of the communications sales team in Europe, driving customer adoption of Xilinx products & technologies. 


An ideal candidate for this role will be an enthusiastic and highly motivated individual who wants to be on the cutting edge of 5G technologies, and proactively engaged with customers in pre and post-sale activities on a daily basis.


Location: Stockholm

Travel: Up to 25% travel may be necessary

 

Responsibilities:

  • Lead Xilinx' technical sales team essential for effectively exploiting the power of Xilinx's programmable system on a chip in customer design discussions
  • Leverage deep understanding of Xilinx IP, tool and device capabilities to recognize and advance 'sticky' solution opportunities
  • Leverage understanding of known challenges to advise customer designers on the optimum use of Xilinx IP, tools and devices
  • Ensure that customer utilization of Xilinx technology works as intended (e.g., facilitate testing, acts as interface to Xilinx, help debug problems)
  • Act as Xilinx technical program owner versus the customer and be single point of contact for customers' technical requests
  • Provide problem-solving support for customer engineering to facilitate partnering (e.g., advise on block diagram, alert to overlooked Xilinx features or functions, help customer engineering, maintain a big picture view of design)
  • Assess how the customer is using Xilinx technology and feed this information back into Xilinx for consideration by marketing or product development
  • Collaborate effectively in improvising or configuring standard technical Xilinx solutions to address unique customer challenges

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Degree in Electronics Engineering or equivalent scientific discipline
  • 5+ years’ experience in SoC/ASIC/FPGA development
  • Knowledge of wireless infrastructure systems
  • Understanding of connectivity & signal processing in communications applications
  • Solid understanding of embedded systems (HW & SW)
  • Experience in C/C++ programming
  • Ability to identify a customer’s key care-abouts and thus contribute to overall sales strategy and success
  • Experience from technical sales a distinct advantage
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and organization skills, verbal and written; fluent English required, Aptitude to communicate clearly at high system and deep technical levels
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize and keep track of activities
  • Team player with “can do” attitude
  • Willingness to travel in Europe and to the US
