Xilinx Operational Finance is composed of five finance teams responsible for providing finance & decision support to the Company’s functional business leaders. 




The Company is seeking an MBA graduate to fill full-time financial analyst positions beginning 2019.  Analysts will be assigned to one of the following finance teams based on business need at the time of hire.




Corporate FP&A and Product Line Performance Measurement Finance


  • Corporate FP&A
  • Product Line Performance Measurement
  • Strategic Planning & Corporate Marketing
  •  Administration: Finance, IT, Facilities, Legal & HR)


Global Sales & Marketing Finance


  • Field Sales
  • Sales Operations & Sales Funnel Management
  • Field Technical Support
  • Vertical Marketing
  • Domain Specific IP Development
  • Business Operations & Price Management


Programmable Products Group Finance


  • Product Marketing – in/outbound
  • Product Definition
  • Silicon, IP & SW Product Development (RD)


Global Operations & Quality Finance


  • Supply Chain Management
  • Product Quality Control
  • New Product Introduction


Xilinx’s finance leadership team is committed to fostering an environment where staff members can continually advance and achieve their career goals.  Accordingly, all financial analysts are participants in the Finance Job Rotation and Career Development Program where they will rotate into a new role every 2 years.  The objective is to ensure that each analyst gains exposure to the various business areas to deepen their business acumen, problem solving, financial analysis & business modeling skills.


A Xilinx financial analyst’s job will include a significant number of the following activities:


Area Vice-President Support


  • Serve as the finance representative on an area VP’s leadership team
  • Develop the VP’s comprehensive annual budget & quarterly update
  • Oversee the month-end financial close with budget variance analysis & commentary
  • Support the area VP’s monthly & quarterly operating reviews
  • Measure and report the VP’s headcount metrics in assessing area resource efficiency
  • Monitor the VP’s office space utilization to facilitate effective site & facilities management  


Decision support activities (not exhaustive)


  • Corporate P&L scenario modeling – sales, OpEx, income, EPS, price multiple & share price
  • Product line performance: sales mix, price & cost analysis; explain GM performance
  • New product investment – comprehensive ROI analysis
  • Product cost optimization – build for cost
  • Direct vs. rep/channel sales coverage
  • Sales funnel – stage yield analysis
  • Mature product end-of-life management
  • Workforce cost structure optimization – salary grade level and geographic mix analysis
  • Make vs. buy (products) and in-house vs. outsource (services)


Compliance & control activities:


  • SOX key control testing & control certifications
  • GAAP compliance
  • Facilitate understanding & compliance with finance & accounting policies

The following are the desired candidate qualifications:

  • MBA from a top ranked & nationally recognized business school
  • BA/BS in finance, accounting, economics, mathematics or engineering field
  • Strong academic achievement at the undergraduate and graduate level
  • 3+ years practical work experience prior to graduate school
  • Strong problem solving & critical thinking skills
  • Strong analytical techniques and modeling skills
  • Effective verbal and visual presentation skills
  • Ability to work within a dynamic cross-functional team environment
  • Positive attitude and strong personal desire to “make a difference”
