The Chief Information Officer (CIO) is responsible for executing a world-class technical enablement and information technology strategy in support of the Xilinx mission to “Build an Adaptable, Intelligent World.”


The CIO will possess broad IT knowledge, expertise in corporate technology and systems, and a sophisticated approach to process automation, cyber threats, internal controls, and cutting-edge technology. This position reports directly to the CEO and oversees all aspects of IT, including:

  • Differentiating the business through products and capabilities
  • Building and maintaining infrastructure
  • Enforcing cyber security
  • Optimizing workforce productivity
Key Responsibilities
  • Partner with business and engineering leaders to establish differentiated business products and capabilities
  • Drive automation through methodical changes to process and systems; seek ways to improve productivity and efficiency by leveraging cloud-based tools and technologies while maintaining business continuity
  • Drive information security, as standard business practice, into the company culture
  • Proactively identify security issues and potential threats; build processes and an information security system that addresses technology safety risks (including specifically how it impacts the semiconductor industry) to identify and protect against issues
  • Develop company infrastructure focused on: engineering operations, desktop support, workforce productivity, and corporate/cyber security
  • Partner cross-functionally on disaster recovery planning and risk mitigation; ensure the company is meeting all governance, regulatory, and compliance standards at the highest level
  • Manage and deploy complex systems to sites around the world
  • Build global support model to serve international workforce as well as partner closely with cross-organization leaders in Facilities, Human Resources, Finance, and Legal
  • Lead global IT organization with 250+ employees; promote culture of high performance and continuous improvement that effectively supports the Xilinx mission, strategy, and values Includes building and mentoring a small team of security engineers

First 6 months Mission-Critical Objectives

  • Evaluate processes and resource investments and develop plan to maximize IT performance
  • Inventory tools and benchmark against industry trends/best-in-class
  • Support the implementation of new HRMS, Salesforce, Slack, and Simpplr
  • Stakeholder listening tour and align organization to better enable/accelerate business performance



Minimum Experience

• 15-20 years of IT experience, with at least 10 years at large public technology 

   company with greater than $1B revenue

• Deployed large scale systems in key geographical locations such as the U.S.,

  China, India, and EMEA; track record of successfully expanding location

  footprint

• Defined, executed, and successfully operationalized systems, processes,

  practices, and tools; not limited to basic deployments

• Experience in strategic and operational planning, as well as establishing

  executive level relationships

• Familiar with industry security standards, as well as current data privacy

  regulations, including GDPR and global/regional standards; experience with

  audits and remediation planning 

• Acquisition experience of multiple private small- and medium-size businesses

  and public company a plus

 

Location: San Jose (HQ) based; approximately 20-30 percent travel to all regions

 

Education Requirement: Minimum Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, computer/systems engineering or relevant sciences
