Senior Embedded Software Engineer


Xilinx Edinburgh is adding to its Wireless Communication Design team. This is a fantastic opportunity for a developer with experience of Embedded Real Time Systems implementation to join a team with access to world-class development infrastructure.

You will be working on designs targeting the 5G wireless market using Xilinx's latest RFSoC and MPSoC devices. You'll be joining a well-established team responsible for the architecture, design and development of embedded real time software for use by the world’s leading wireless telecommunications companies.

The role involves developing software components and systems for key wireless customers, working with hardware architecture and development teams, taking specifications from customer requirements and industry standards through planning, architecture design and development and product verification.



    Qualifications:

    • Degree in Computer Science or Electronic Engineering

    Skills and Experience:

    • Extensive C programming, debug and tool-chains in the embedded domain.

    • Low level Embedded Linux/RTOS programming.

    • An understanding of the Xilinx FPGA product and the system development process is an advantage.

    • Knowledge of FPGA and System on chip hardware architecture is an advantage.

    • Experience of programmable logic (FPGAs, ASICs, CPLD, embedded processors or microcontrollers).

    • Experience in DSP and wireless communication technology development

    • Knowledge of Matlab, (Tcl/Perl/Python) to control Xilinx tools and/or other EDA tools (an advantage).

    • Familiarity with Xilinx Vivado and SDK (an advantage).

    • Fully self-sufficient in software development concepts and methods, coding and scripting languages, and build, analysis and debug tools required in area of responsibility
