The Chief People Officer (CPO) is responsible for developing and executing a world class workforce strategy that enables successful execution of the Xilinx mission to Build an Adaptable, Intelligent World.

 

Specific areas of focus are executive development, succession planning, talent management, change leadership, organizational and performance management, diversity and inclusion, training, culture and total rewards.

The CPO reports directly to the CEO and provides strategic leadership by articulating human capital plans to the executive management team and the board of directors, as needed.

 

The CPO will possess broad human resources knowledge; expertise in strategic, collaborative, and consultative services; a sophisticated approach to organizational effectiveness/design; and technical expertise in key areas of human resources.


Role:

  • Develop workforce strategies in support of the achievement of the overall business objectives and contribute to company strategy.
    • Provide leadership and guidance to the HR function by overseeing talent acquisition, organizational development, HR systems, learning, diversity, corporate community engagement, operational excellence, M&A, compensation and benefits.
  • Establish and implement workforce programs that effectively communicate and support the Xilinx mission, strategy and values.
  • Function as a strategic business advisor to the executive management team regarding key organizational and management issues.
  • Work with the CEO to establish a C-level management succession.
  • Work with the CEO and GC to ensure compliance and good governance from an organization and people perspective.
  • Develop comprehensive strategic recruiting and retention plans to meet workforce needs.
  • Develop and implement comprehensive compensation and benefits/wellness plans that are competitive and cost-effective.

First 6-12 month mission critical objectives:

  1. Evaluate processes and resource investment and put a plan in place to maximize HR performance.  Drive operational excellence to meet or beat industry benchmarks in core operational HR areas.
  2. Support the implementation of new HRMS to increase workforce productivity and improve the employee experience.   
  3. Facilitate year-long change management plan in support of company transformation.
  4. In partnership with CEO, design and drive employee value proposition (EVP) to amplify company culture, core values, and an employer brand strategy that fosters employee pride and attracts the best talent to Xilinx.

 

 Required Experience:

  • A minimum of 15 years of HR experience, with at least 5 years of executive HR experience and at least 5 years of international HR experience.
  • Work experience as a Chief People Officer, VP of HR or similar role.
  • Experience contributing to an organization's strategic direction through a significant human resources leadership role, and a proven record of leading transformational change.
  • Experience in strategic planning.
  • In-depth knowledge of all HR functions.  Hands-on experience with HRIS software (HCM, ATS, etc.)  Solid understanding of labor legislation.
  • Excellent leadership capabilities.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience working effectively with public company Board of Director and playing a significant role with the Compensation Committee and interacting with other committees as needed.
  • Experience with private company acquisitions.

Preferred Experience:

  • Experience acting as HR leader in public technology company with global foot print.
  • Experience with successful public company acquisitions.
  • Utilization and best practices with current tools/platforms for HR including data analytics.

Location:

  • San Jose (HQ) based.
  • Approximately 20-30% travel to all regions.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • MBA or a MA/MS in human resources or related field a plus.
