We are seeking a talented, self-driven and motivated software engineer to be part of the Xilinx Partial Reconfiguration development team. The Xilinx Partial Reconfiguration solution combines innovative silicon features and advanced software tools to enable customers to dynamically re-program portions of their SoC or FPGA at run time. Partial Reconfiguration is a key differentiating technology and is used in a wide variety of commercial applications in communications, aerospace and defense, test and measurement, and more recently in Cloud Computing such as AWS F1.

Being a member of the Partial Reconfiguration team simply requires the passion and motivation to solve challenging technical problems with robust scalable algorithms along with targeted features. Successful candidate will have an opportunity to contribute and innovate in the areas of: Placement, Routing, device programming, performance tuning, overall implementation flow, and enabling software technologies for Cloud Computing. Our code is optimized for high performance on large data sets and leverages leading edge industry standard technologies such as C++, STL, BOOST, Tcl, and more.


Partial Reconfiguration team members are routinely involved in all aspects of product development: design, prototyping, implementation, testing, and productization. The development team is dynamic and fast paced offering each of its members tremendous personal opportunity to grow their knowledge and skills in complex problem solving, product development and software engineering. In developing the Partial Reconfiguration solutions, our software engineers will make a direct impact on the growth and adoption of Xilinx silicon into exciting new end customer applications.

  • Master’s Degree in EE/CE/CS or related field with minimum 6+ years of relevant industry experience; Or a PH.D. in EE/CE/CS with 3+years of relevant industry experience.
  • Strong software development and debug skills
  • Knowledge in C++, data structures, algorithms and graph theory
  • Knowledge in scripting (TCL, Perl, Python, or similar)
  • Experience in large scale production software development on Linux
  • Algorithmic acumen and runtime optimized code development
  • Familiarity with FPGA architectures, tool flows, and implementing FPGA designs is a plus
  • Must be able to demonstrate strong analytical and problem solving
  • Ability to synthesize complex use-cases into a coherent technical problem statement, propose and apply technical solutions 
  • Must be able to excel in a team environment with good personal and communication skills
