The Vice President of Quality will provide leadership and overall strategic direction for the Quality group to ensure Xilinx’s product and service quality exceeds customer expectations and complies with industry specific standards and regulatory requirements. 

This individual will be a member of the Global Operations and Quality (GOQ) senior leadership team reporting to the Executive Vice President of GOQ, and will lead a global organization encompassing product quality, reliability engineering, customer quality engineering, and quality systems to support a very broad base of technologies and a wide range of customers in different markets, such as data center, automotive, communications, aerospace and defense.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development and execution of Quality strategies and goals in line with Xilinx’s corporate strategy
  • Proactively engages with end customers and provides greater insight and influence with the management team concerning product and service quality
  • Lead the Corporate Quality organization to support the product lifecycle management from concept to product realization followed by post market surveillance to ensure business compliance, growth and sustainability
  • Provide strategic oversight of all segments of Corporate QMS
  • Lead the continuous evaluation of all Quality systems and processes and drive appropriate enhancements to ensure the achievement of Xilinx’s near-term and long-term objectives
  • Interface with the OEM Customers, Suppliers and Xilinx Business Units to align on quality standards
  • Provide guidance and direction in regulatory inspections and audits
  • Lead the development and tracking of company quality indicators utilizing contemporary statistical tools and methodologies
  • Build and sustain employee engagement by fostering the efficient execution of strategies and creating an environment for individuals and teams to excel and grow

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Quality Management or related technical discipline; Preferred - Advanced degree (MS, PhD, MBA)
  • 20+ years of combined experience in one or more of the following areas: foundry/fabs, semiconductor process integration, microprocessor & graphics product development, supply chain, operations
  • A minimum of 8 years in a senior Engineering/Quality and Manufacturing leadership role with increasing responsibility
  • Ability to take a highly strategic, innovative, technical and data-intensive approach toward the execution of the Quality functions
  • Ability to effectively engage with customers, suppliers and 3rd party vendors
  • Board and system level engineering, manufacturing, quality and reliability experience and deep knowledge of diverse quality standards by product type and industry (board products vs. single device components)
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills that will enable him or her to credibly serve as the face of the Quality organization
  • Possess a flexible, pro-active approach to problem solving, be an adept negotiator and apply risk-based decisions
  • The ability to set clear and challenging goals while committing the organization to improved performance; tenacious and accountable in driving results
  • Comfortable with ambiguity and uncertainly; the ability to adapt nimbly and lead others through complex situations
  • A leader who is viewed by others as having a high degree of integrity and forethought in his/her approach to making decisions; the ability to act in a transparent and consistent manner while always considering what is best for the organization
  • A leader who is self-reflective and aware of his/her own limitations; leads by example and drives the organization's performance with an attitude of continuous improvement by being open to feedback and self-improvement
  • Experience in leading change throughout an organization to enhance and sustain a world-class quality culture
  • Demonstrated ability to lead, develop and sustain highly technical geographically diverse teams
