Accounts Assistant

 

Xilinx Ireland’s finance department is hiring an Accounts Assistant to support the preparation of monthly management accounts for the EMEA region
 
This is an opportunity to work in a large US multinational company (listed on NASDAQ), gain exposure to US GAAP, IFRS, Internal Controls and Sarbanes Oxley Compliance.
 
The role involves working closely with the Finance team in Dublin and across all Xilinx sites.  In addition there is interaction with local Accountancy firms, local administrators, accountants and auditors on day to day accounting issues, year-end audits.
 
Key Tasks and Responsibilities:
  • Support the preparation and delivery of high quality monthly, quarterly and year end management accounts.
  • Preparation of Journals and Balance sheet reconciliations
  • Assist in preparation of Monthly expense review variance analysis
  • Assist in the preparation of quarterly/annual Corporate Tax computations for presentation to the Tax Dept
  • Assist in the preparation and collation of information for external accountants and auditors to support annual statutory audits and filing requirements
  • Assist in the preparation of annual Financial Statements to include US GAAP to Local GAAP bridging reconciliations
  • Assist in preparation of monthly VAT returns, payroll returns, CSO returns (or equivalent) and ensuring all other filings (accounting, legal, tax) are completed and filed in accordance with local legislation and timelines, including liaison with third party accountants for local filings and compliance matters
  • Assist and support the preparation and review of monthly EMEA payroll
  • Support management in driving efficiencies for the group and the business
  • Assistance with other ad hoc tasks as required
 
 

 

 

Requirements:

  • Degree qualified in Business/Accountancy
  • 1 – 2 years’ accounts assistant experience, preferably gained within a large US multinational company
  • Strong problem solving & critical thinking skills
  • An ability to work on their own initiative
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and enjoy working as part of a team
  • Excellent attention to detail with a high level of accuracy
  • Ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Excel
  • Experience with Oracle systems (preferable but not required)
  • Beginning / Actively pursuing a professional accountancy qualification is desirable
