Job Description

Description

Computer Architect (Performance & Architecture Modelling)

Based in our expanding Engineering Center in Dublin, Ireland, we are recruiting outstanding engineers with a passion for Machine Learning & AI to lead the definition and specification of Xilinx next-generation architectures. PhD/MSc-qualified engineers, with a strong background in architectures for AI/ML, mathematical modelling and digital signal processing (DSP), will be at the forefront of identifying, specifying and developing new architectures for machine learning and how they will impact Xilinx next-generation products.

You will join a team whose architecture and systems activities cover a wide range of disciplines including machine learning for data center (HPC) and embedded computing (e.g., automotive ADAS) applications; emerging memory technologies; on-chip interconnects; specification, modelling and analysis of modern heterogeneous multicore architectures.

Responsibilities:

  • Creating and using architecture performance models and system models to shape next-generation Xilinx devices
  • Applying strong software engineering skills to the framework to enable architecture performance models to be integrated into system-level models
  • Validate and Analyze architecture performance when integrated into a larger system
  • Provide results/reports that drive the specification of the next-generation architecture
  • Technically interact with Xilinx-internal engineering teams and Xilinx customers

Xilinx develops highly flexible and adaptive processing platforms that enable rapid innovation across a variety of technologies - from the endpoint to the edge to the cloud. Xilinx is the inventor of the FPGA, hardware programmable SoCs and the ACAP (Adaptive Compute Acceleration Platform), designed to deliver the most dynamic processor technology in the industry and enable the adaptable, intelligent and connected world of the future in a multitude of markets including Data Center (Compute, Storage and Networking); Wireless/5G and Wired Communications; Automotive/ADAS; Emulation & Prototyping; Aerospace & Defense; Industrial Scientific & Medical, and others. Xilinx's core strengths simultaneously address major industry trends including the explosion of data, heterogeneous computing after Moore's Law, and the dawn of artificial intelligence (AI).

Our global team is growing and we are looking for bold, collaborative and creative people to help us lead the industry transformation to build an adaptable intelligent world. We believe that by embracing diverse ideas, striving for excellence in all that we do, and working together as a unified team, we can accomplish anything. Come do your best work and live your best life as part of the ONEXILINX team!

Requirements:

  • PhD/MS Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or related field
  • Software engineering experience relevant to modern architecture modeling (e.g., SystemC, TLM2)
  • Strong background in modern micro-architectures
  • High level understanding of micro-architecture at the system and SoC levels
  • Strong communication skills, verbal and written
  • Strong C/C++ programming experience and scripting skills

Beneficial would be domain background in one or more of the following areas:

  • Strong mathematical skills on optimization techniques and packages (e.g., ILP, SAT solvers)
  • Good understanding of on-chip interconnect architectures and memory hierarchy in heterogeneous architectures
  • Programming modern parallel architectures
  • Flexibility, interest in technology and eager to learn
