Job Description

The Senior Staff Quality Engineer will serve as the technical Lead in the corporate quality function reporting to the Director of Corporate Quality.

The primary responsibilities of this role are to provide technical expertise to product risk assessment activities, lead technical investigations of Quality incidents, and manage day to day activities related to the qualification and certification of Xilinx A&D products.

As a significant output in this role the Quality leader will have direct participation in the development of industry leading processes and controls related to the introduction of new products, including Si, Tools, and IP, to Deliver Absolute Quality.

 

Responsibilities:

 

  • Responsible for coordinating and executing internal and external audit of the Xilinx Quality Management System within the frame work of ISO9001:2016, TL9000 Rev 6, and IATF 16949

  • Perform as a lead Auditor for internal audits of the Quality Management Systems (QMS), and evaluate technical risks relative to product and systems

  • Coordinate and consult with various engineering functions in Silicon Engineering, Product Test engineering, supplier quality, yield engineering, & Operations to develop a seamless Quality measurement, analysis, reporting, and continuous improvement process. 

  • Coordinates activities to resolve Quality Incidents and drive continual improvements while effectively tracking and addressing product quality issues to minimize customer impact.

  • Develops and implements the systems needed to evaluate and control product quality, compliance to standards, and execution to procedures in order to ensure a flawless customer experience.

  • Use the corporate Continual Improvement Action system to drive 5 Why root cause determination, and implementation of improvements

  • Contribute and maintain various other quality related activities as needed.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree (Physics, or Electrical Engineering, Software, Data Science) or MBA (preferred)
  • 10+ years of direct semiconductor Industry or Semiconductor user experience
  • Comprehensive knowledge of ISO9001:2016, TL9000 Rev 6, and IATF 16949 Quality management System standards, with direct audit experience required & accreditation is desired
  • Lead auditor certification to TS16949 or TL9000 (preferred) or ISO9001:2008
  • Extensive experience in Automotive industry (DFMEA, PFMEA, FMEDA, Control Plan, APQP, PPAP)
  • Direct Experience with CAR/PAR (8D) methodology with strong understanding if 5-Why Root cause assessment
  • Excellent communication (verbal & written), with very strong time - project management skills.
  • Communicate effectively and extensively with internal customers and management for successful implementation of this job function.
  • Facilitate teamwork to effectively communicate and perform across multiple geographies, disciplines, and customers.

 

Desired Experience:

  • Experience in MIL-PRF-38535 Class Q/N, S/V/Y certified products
  • Quality Management Systems, Reliability, or Aerospace and Defense electronics experience.
  • Working Knowledge for Functional Safety Standards, ISO26262, IEC61508, and DO254 as applied to FPGA
  • Working knowledge of CMMI Standards, Implementation, and methodologies
  • ASQ Certification, Engineer, Auditor, SQE
  • Six Sigma Training or Certification is a plus
  • Quality Documentation, creation, process flow mapping/development, Project Planning, and implementation
