Software Applications Engineer
The Analog Mixed Signal team design RF- ADCs and RF- DACs which are integrated into FPGA devices both monolithically and with 3D technology. These devices are used in a variety of applications such as cable head-end, wireless communications and medical imaging.
Xilinx Ireland is hiring for a talented and ambitious Software Applications Engineer with 5+ years’ experience to join a growing team and support application software development in an RF laboratory environment, targeting qualification and deployment of innovative and cutting-edge products in customers systems. The opportunity here is for a Degree or MSc qualified Electrical Engineer with a strong background in embedded software programming to leverage their skills in the architecture and design of software modules and gain experience in understanding customer usability and how software and hardware features must come together seamlessly to enhance the customer experience.
Bachelor’s or Master Degree in Electrical Engineering
5+ years’ experience in high-level software development with exposure to a laboratory development environment and a desire and ambition to work with customers to define requirements and solutions
Strong software programming skills are required to enable GUI and drivers for internal and external application solutions
Experience in embedded software systems including specification, design, simulation and validation
DSP understanding and use of associated tools such as MatLab and SimuLink.
Proficient in NI LabVIEW, NI TestStand (NI certified developer preferred)
Comfortable on scripting (Python, LUA, TCL) and Linux knowledge are highly desirable
Knowledge of automated test equipment design and architecture is welcome
Experience in the lab characterizing and debugging RF components and systems is welcome
Ability to work well as part of a team
